Extended Time Curriculum (ETC) for P4 Pupils

The Extended Time Curriculum (ETC) will be scheduled for all P3 and P4 pupils on Tuesday. This is in alignment with the school's goal in providing a holistic education especially in the areas of nurturing our pupils to be leaders with character and fostering the love for the Chinese culture.  The ETC aims to provide a myriad of holistic learning opportunities for the pupils.

The ETC for all P3 and P4 will start from 12 Jan 2016 and please refer to the attached ETC schedule for details. On 12 Jan 2016, P4 pupils will end their classes at 1.30 pm for lunch and be in the hall from 2 pm to 3.45 pm for CCA Orientation. P3 pupils are to follow the schedule indicated below.

Note:

1.    Modular Programmes for ETC will be conducted.

2.    All P3 & P4 pupils will have to attend the modular    programmes.

3.    The school dismissal time for all P3 & P4 pupils on Tuesdays is

       3.45pm

For pupils taking school buses, please make transport arrangement with the bus driver for the Tuesday's dismissal from 3.45pm.

If you are driving into the school to pick your child, please plan your travelling time so that you can pick your child at one of these locations and times:

1.       Enter Gate E, from Coronation Road from 3.45 pm to 4 pm.

Please note that Nanyang Kindergarten (NYK) will be dismissing their children from 4.10pm and their parents' vehicles will be queuing to enter Gate E from 4.10pm onwards. So it is important that you fetch your child before 4pm from the CRC's driveway in order not to affect their dismissal process. Please arrange with your child to wait for you at the driveway and look out for your car. If you can only pick your child from school after 4pm, please inform your child to wait for you at Gate A or the Meeting point at KRC.

2.    Enter Gate A, from King's Road, after 4.15 pm.

For P3 and P4 pupils who might not be familiar with the CRC's driveway near Gate E, we would encourage parents to drive in via Gate A after 4.15pm.

To facilitate smooth dismissal, it is important that you make prior arrangement with your child so that they know where to meet you.  We would like to appeal and remind all parents not to park indiscriminately or drive inconsiderately along the narrow King's Road, Coronation Road and Princess of Wales Road and causing congestion during the arrival and dismissal hours. Also, please do not park at or blocking the residents' gates. Your considerate action will set a good example for your children.

We look forward to partnering you in providing your child with an enriched learning experience.

Welcome Note from P4 LC!

Dear Parent/Guardian,

Happy New Year to you and your family!

I am Ms Esther Lim, the Level Custodian for Primary Four.

As your child moves on to primary four of his/her primary school life, I hope we can work closely together to ensure a smooth transition for your child. Please feel free to call me at 64672677 or email me at lim_shuhui_esther@nyps.edu.sg.

You would have probably or soon received the introductory letter from your child's form teacher with regard to classroom matters, expectations and contact details of the class subject teachers. Please feel free to contact the teachers to better understand your child's progress throughout the year.

While we prepare your child to start his/her new learning journey in 2016, I would like to share the following information with you:

1.      P4 Meet the Parents Session with the Principal

Our first MTP session will be held on 16 January (Saturday), 8.30am to 11am, at King's Road Campus. There is no need to book individual appointments with your child's form teacher.

2.      Temperature Taking Exercise on 7th January (Thursday)
All P4 pupils have already been issued their personal Oral Digital Thermometer (ODT) when they were in P1. Please do check that the ODT is in good condition. The form teachers will be keeping the ODTs in school after the exercise.

I hope the above information will be useful to you. Do check the class blog for regular updates. We look forward to your continuous support and partnership in making learning fun and meaningful for your child in Nanyang.

Have a Wonderful 2016 ahead!

Yours sincerely,

Ms Esther Lim

Data Updating and Dismissal Arrangement

Dear Parents,

Updating of Pupils' Data and Medical Information

Pupils' data and medical forms have been given out to all pupils on 4th January 2016. It is an annual exercise where parents will update their contact details, information on the medical conditions of their child, and any special precautions needed.

For medical conditions, please submit any supporting documents from the doctors. The information collected will be used for the purpose of
(a) updating any student information databases managed by the school or the Ministry of Education,
(b) planning and conducting the school's programmes and
(c) making disclosure, where relevant and necessary, to government agencies, statutory boards, health-care providers, and other parties in order to ensure the safety and well-being of your child.

Please submit all the completed forms, duly signed and return it to the Form Teacher by 7th January 2016 (Thursday).

Dismissal Arrangement at Meeting Point

You can drive into the school to fetch your child by entering Gate A, along King's Road from 1.50pm to 2.15pm.  Please display a piece of A4 size paper indicating the name and class of your child so that we can call their names and speed up the pick-up process along the driveway near the Meeting Point. Please plan your travelling time so that you need not wait outside the school to enter the school from 1.50pm and remind your child to wait for you at the Meeting Point. If you need to come to the school for any matters, please park your vehicle at the public car parks in the school vicinity.

Thank you for your understanding.
